IS YOUR PROPERTY INSURED?

99% of insurance companies now ask that all external (wooden) doors have a 5 lever British Standard deadlock or sashlock fitted (sashlock is with handles).

Many people are paying for home/buildings insurance but are actually not insured due to either there is not a British Standard lock fitted or the lock that is already in place isn’t British Standard.

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW ?

On the face plate on the lock it will tell you if it has the British Standard kite mark or not? its the shape of a love heart, see image:

But also be aware that some insurance companies will not insure British Standard locks that are made before 2007. Please don’t risk the double whammy of being broken into and then not being insured!!
